A group of lions approached a waterhole hoping to find an opportunity, but they quickly discovered that they had entered the territory of an extremely protective hippo.
The enormous animal burst forward with its mouth wide open, sending the lions scrambling in different directions. One lion attempted to hold its ground for a moment before retreating from the charging giant.
The hippo eventually returned to the water, while the lions kept their distance. It was a dramatic reminder that even apex predators must respect the immense power of a territorial hippo.
