A tiny African elephant calf sparked emotional scenes after becoming separated from its mother in thick bush.
The frightened youngster wandered in circles, calling loudly while flapping its ears in distress. Rangers watching nearby feared the calf could panic further if predators appeared.
After several tense minutes, the mother’s answering rumble echoed through the trees, and the calf sprinted toward her as the herd reunited around them.
