A pride of lions was resting near a water source when an elephant herd approached. The elephants noticed the predators and immediately became defensive, particularly with younger members of the herd nearby.
Several elephants moved forward together, raising their trunks and spreading their ears. The lions quickly recognised that they were facing an overwhelming wall of muscle, tusks, and determination.
The predators eventually moved away as the elephants took control of the area. Similar footage from Kruger National Park shows elephants arriving after a lion kill and chasing the lions away from their preferred drinking area.
