A young African elephant calf nearly got swept away while crossing a fast-moving river with its herd.
The terrified calf lost its footing and drifted into deeper water before its mother rushed in. Using her trunk and body, she blocked the current and guided the baby back toward safety.
The emotional rescue ended with the calf safely reaching shore, where the rest of the herd gathered protectively around it.
