An extraordinary predator encounter unfolded when an African rock python was forced into a confrontation with a hyena over a freshly caught meal.
The massive snake had successfully captured an antelope and was in the process of securing its prey when the opportunistic hyena appeared. Sensing an easy target, the hyena boldly moved in and grabbed the carcass, attempting to steal the meal before the python could swallow it.
