Not only are they fast and venomous, black mambas are fiercely competitive. This rare encounter between two males offers a window into the lesser-seen side of snake behaviour as they fight in a battle of dominance.
On a sunny day in Kruger National Park, safari-goer Kristie came across an extraordinary sighting while driving down one of the park’s dirt trails. Two black mambas were deeply engaged in combat directly in front of her on the sun-baked road!
Kristie knew this was a rare sighting that most safari-goers only hear about, so she took out her camera to capture the action.
